Come join the exciting and dynamic youth and family ministry at King of Glory! Our K-3, and Gr. 3-5 youth groups meet monthly during the school year for fun activities with a built-in message. Our Middle School and High School youth have at least one monthly event for each group as well as “Cooking with Christ”, a monthly event for youth in gr. 6-12 that involves food and a light Bible study. We also offer several all age family events including a monthly Family Movie Night on the last Friday evening of each month.
Sunday School during the school year is available for youth ages 3 years through 8th Grade. Our High School group also meets every Sunday morning throughout the year for an in-depth look at the different books of the Bible. We spend time reading the scriptures and discovering how it applies to our daily lives.
King of Glory also recognizes the many faith milestones that affect our families. From First Communion classes in 1st Grade through Confirmation, we provide instruction, support, and recognition along the many different stages of a child’s life. As mentioned, First Communion Instruction begins in 1st Grade and includes the painting of a communion chalice as a remembrance of that first communion event. In the spring of their 2nd grade year, our youth and parents are invited to participate in an Intro to the Bible Course. This three session course gives a brief walk through the books of the Bible. When students have completed the course, they are presented with their very own NRSV Bible. When our youth are in Gr. 3-5, they and their parents have the opportunity to share their faith with each other as they participate in home Bible studies that cover basic Bible stories as well as a thorough study of two Gospels.
Confirmation begins in Gr. 6 and continues through the youth’s 8th grade year. Confirmation occurs on Pentecost Sunday at the end of the 8th grade year. As a part of the confirmation process, youth are encouraged to participate in yearly retreats, service within the congregation and around the community, and events with other area churches.
