• CONFIRMATION emphasizes the KNOW part of our mission. This includes and educational hour of Faith Inkubator’s. Faith Inkubator’s is a curriculum that carried out by a team of loving mentors dedicated to the diversity of each individual youth. Youth come to know Christ through; learning, serving, and playing together in a Christian Community. Confirmation is held Wednesday nights from 6:30-8pm.
• C.I.A. EVENTS emphasize the GROW part of our mission. These events are extremely important and beneficial towards faith development in youth. C.I.A. Events are held three times a year, with two weekend retreats and one week-long summer retreat.
• B.A.F.F. (Bring A Friend Friday!) emphasizes the GO part of our mission. This is a chance for us to bring our
friends for a night of fun in a caring Christian community. It is also a good time for us to practice living out our faith together through games, skits, and songs. B.A.F.F. (Bring A Friend Friday!) is held the third Friday of every month from 7-9pm.
• LEADERSHIP STAFF is for youth who feel called to be leaders in the church, at Confirmation, and during C.I.A..Staff also participate in the decision making process for C.I.A. events. This event also emphasizes the GO part of our mission.
Bible Studies
Discipling Ministry programs at KOG are intended to challenge the mind and expand the heart, as we learn together the ways of Jesus Christ. There are classes, small groups opportunities, and fellowship events to help us grow closer to God and to one another in our life together.
Our life of faith is rooted in the miraculous and gracious promises of the triune God to us in Holy Scripture, and so study of scripture is essential to our learning.
We also learn from the grand, 2,000 year tradition that has confessed Jesus as Lord and Christ, and seek ways to put our learning into action in the world, becoming "little Christs" to our neighbors in need, and speaking out on behalf of the poor and the oppressed in society. At KOG, learning has a very concrete goal: to build up the body of Christ and to proclaim the reign of God in the world.
Prayer Warriors
King of Glory has made a commitment to prayer. A group of members is committed to intercessory prayer. Prayers are raised for our church, its pastors, all of our ministries, the church at large, our country, our President and the Troops, also for all the individual requests turned in on Sunday mornings. We are honored to receive requests for prayer; they may be submitted on the back of the attendance card or called in to the church office A group of Prayer Warriors meets every Monday night from 6 to 7 pm in the Conference Room to pray for all the requests received. You are invited to join us in prayer. This is an important ministry for our KOG family.
Women of the ELCA
As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society and the world. Two campouts are held each year. Typically they are the weekend after Easter and the weekend after Labor Day. Contact Harriet Bower at 714-842-3750.
