Where is King of Glory?

King of Glory is at 10280 Slater Ave. Fountain Valley, CA. We are located one block north of the 405 freeway and one block east of Brookhurst Street (just next to city hall) google map

Brief History

King of Glory was formed in 1961 and first worshipped in Huntington Beach. In the mid 1970’s the congregation relocated to the present campus in what was then the developing community of Fountain Valley. The congregation has always felt a strong call to be an active agent of God’s love within the community.

Year Started in New Sanctuary

Ground breaking February 24, 1974. Interim services held at the now flattened Fountain Valley Elementary School at Talbert & Bushard Street. Redeveloped into senior apartments.

King of Glory holds first worship service in new building Jan 29, 1975

April 1977 KOG members dedicate the Christ Cross in front of the church.

What are the differences between the worship services?

The choir and organ service is the most traditional of Lutheran Services and mostly follows the Lutheran Book of Worship. The Pastor dresses in full robe garments and communion is "at the table."

The praise band worship service is more of a rock style worship with music played by a live worship band of today's popular worship music. The Pastor is usually preaching with the congregation, is dressed more casually and communion is given by intinction, which is dipping the wafer into the communion wine.

Both services are generally 70 minutes

What do I wear to worship at KOG?

Both our traditional service (organ and choir) and our praise service have a "come as you are" atmosphere.

Are small children welcome to worship services?

ABSOLUTELY! We love our kids at KOG - there is nursery available for the real tiny babes and we even have a crying room if mommy (or daddy) want to be a part of the worship experience with their baby. Elementary school age kids are welcome to childrens church about 1/4 of the way through our praise service and then return to us towards the end. This allows moms and dads to clearly listen to the Pastor during his sermon (ha ha).
